Here is a link to local realtime air quality readings for particulate matter. Go to: https://map.purpleair.com/1/mPM25/a10/p604800/cC0#11/51.0672/-115.2979
The data on the above site is provided in partnership with PurpleAir from which BVCAS recently purchased two air quality monitors. Our monitors (along with other private PurpleAir monitors in the Bow Valley) report on particlate matter..
We do not control or check the above data, as such we can’t verify the accuracy of the data from these sites, so please use them at your own risk. Over time, comparing the PurpleAir monitors in the valley to the CRAZ data below, you should be able to get comfortable relying on this data for your outdoor activities.
Below is a link to an Accuweather site which takes into account ozone and NO2.
CRAZ- Calgary Regional Airshed Zone operate three continuous air monitoring stations in Calgary. These monitors are real-time! You can see the realtime results on the CRAZ website and compare the results for PM to our local Purple Air monitors http://craz.ca/monitoring/
Lafarge - Lafarge operates 2 contnuous air quality monitoring stations near the Exshaw Cement Plant ;however, this data is not real-time but it is updated weekly for the previous week. These monitors are the closest to residents in the Bow Valley (Banff, Canmore, Exshaw, Lac Des Arcs, Kananaskis). http://airquality.ca/clients/Lafarge_Public/
